Course Overview and Goals

Hello! It’s Dr Emily and Dr. Kelcie and we want to welcome you to this course as you embark on this journey towards better health. We’re going to walk you through life changing information, meant to help you improve your health and feel the best you’ve ever felt. This course was developed because of a growing challenge in health and the healthcare industry. You’ve probably seen it too. We live in a country with the best emergency medical care in the world and yet, we have the highest rate of chronic health diseases and prescription drug use of any other country. Rather than getting healthier, our country is getting sicker with increasing rates of diabetes, obesity and mental health illnesses. Clearly the system isn’t working. Surely there has to be a different way to protect our health and improve quality of life rather than just battling disease. This is not only possible but it is precisely what this course is designed to do. We are you to help you build up your body and your health from the very foundations of what it means to be healthy. So that you can experience the quality of life and health that you were designed to have. 

Can that really be done? You know what? We believe it can. The things that we are going to teach you in this course and the steps we’re going to ask you to take are going to help you build a healthy and sustainable lifestyle that you can continue for years and years to come. We are going to start in a strategic way that is designed to help you have more energy, find your ideal weight and get you4 life and your health back. 

So, let’s talk about what we’re going to do to arrive at that destination. First, we will discuss nutrition, a non-negotiable health foundation. We will accomplish this by teaching you the principles of a healthy, sustainable way of eating. We will help you determine which foods are causing inflammation in your body that may be contributing to hormone imbalance, gut disturbances, low energy and blood sugar instability. 

Beyond that we will be discussing adding in whole, nutrient dense foods that help repair and realign the body and correct dysfunction at the source. These steps, along with learning how to manage stress and improve your mindset, will lead to better energy, deeper sleep and begin reversing chronic disease. These steps will also start to heal your metabolism so your body is better at utilizing energy for fuel. 

We’re also going to give you some tips around movement and exercise. Exercise and movement go hand in hand with a healthy lifestyle. Unfortunately, many people don’t feel like they have the energy, stamina or knowledge of how to effectively exercise. For some, this may even feel impossible. So, we’re going to discuss some basic exercises you can be doing either from home or at a gym/studio based on what feels right for you. Our goal is for you to find a form of movement that feels good and even fun for your body and adds to your life and health.

 Finally, we will be focusing on detoxification and hormone balance. To clarify, detoxification is a process to help your body cleanse itself from years of toxic build up that can infer with your organs and glands and interrupt your hormones and body chemistry. Our approach to detox is gentle and approachable. It should not make you feel awful or feel extreme. That is not what detox is about. Healthy detoxification is very powerful and works along with your body to eliminate toxins and restore normal function. As we move through this course, you should notice clear improvements in your health and be encouraged by the difference you feel in your body.

All along the way we’ll be teaching you about your body and your health and the things that are most important to be included in your days. So that’s it. You’re ready to begin this course. Be sure to watch your videos each week and read through your documents in each video unit. 

All of these changes can sound like a lot but let’s be clear, we won’t ask you to make these changes alone. We are going to provide step by step instructions and give you guidance about what to eat and give you encouragement and education as you go. That way you can really own and understand why these changes are helping you to regain and restore your health.
